Description
Studio portrait of two soldiers. On the left is 2836 Private (Pte) Ernest Edwin Wheeler, 6th Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Mernda, Vic; the other soldier is unidentified. Pte Wheeler enlisted on 19 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 17 October 1915. He was killed in action on 24 August 1917 in Belgium.
