On the right shoulder is a machine embroidered 'ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY' cloth patch in yellow, red, green and white cotton, and on the left is a woven Australian flag patch in red, white and blue cotton. Below this badge is a small patch pocket divided into three compartments for pens. The rank slides are of black fabric, with the word AUSTRALIA' and the rank stripes embroidered in gold cotton.
