Description

Mauser Model Kar 98k bolt action rifle. Blued and polished machined steel action with a turned down bolt arm. Action marked on the top with the arms of the Portuguese Government over 1941 and has MAUSERWERKE AG OBERNDORF on the left side. Full wood stock that has a steel packing disc in the butt and polished pressed steel butt plate. There are Nazi proof stamps on the action and butt. It is fitted with a cleaning rod and an adjustable leather sling.

History / Summary

This rifle is one of a contract batch ordered by the Portuguese Government but requisitioned by the Nazis for the Second World War. The "k" stands for "kurz" (short) and distinguishes it from the Kar98a which was a longer variation of the rifle.
