Miniature diamond shaped colour patch for 2/24 Battalion, 1941-1942 pattern, divided white over red.
History / Summary
Worn by VX50120 Corporal Spencer Morris Basset of 2/24 Battalion, AIF. Basset was born in Donald, VIC in August 1918 and enlisted in the AIF as a driver on 10 March 1941. He served in the Middle East, New Guinea and Borneo with 2/24 Bn and later transferred to 9 Division Provost Company. He was Mentioned in Dispatches for exceptional service in the field in the South West Pacific area. Basset was discharged from service on 9 January 1946. The colour patch would have been worn by him, together with a full sized provost patch, when he was attached to 9 Divison Provost company, as an indication of his previous unit.
