Informal portrait of two officers of the Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC) sitting at the entrance to a dugout. Identified left to right: Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Hobart Sturdee; Major William Weston Hearne, who, as Acting Director of Medical Services, 5th Division, was killed by a shell fragment on 17 October 1917.
