View of the Monastery of St Catherine, which lies at the foot of Jebel Musa or Mount Sinai, showing three officers and two monks, the officers are from left to right; Major Oliver Hogue (Trooper Bluegum) of the 14th Australian Light Horse of Sydney NSW, who died of influenza on 3 March 1919 in London, Lieutenant James Paul Gee Cox of the 14th Australian Light Horse of Ashfield NSW, who died on 19 September 1918 and Lieutenant George Gowland MC, 14th Australian Light Horse Regiment.
