Description
Studio portrait of 2253 Bombardier (Bdr) Stanley Gordon Wise, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade (2FAB), of Ballarat, Vic. Bdr Wise enlisted as a driver with 3rd Field Artillery Brigade Ammunition Column on 19 August 1914, and embarked from Melbourne on 19 September 1914 aboard HMAT Geelong. In January 1917 he transfered to the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade. Wise was killed in action on 16 August 1917 aged 27 years and is buried at the Reninghelst New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
