The mosaic floor of a sixth century Greek Christian Church at Um Gerar/Jerar near Gaza. The floor was unearthed in 1917 during military operations and the discovery published in Lieut. F. M. Drake (1918) A Sixth Century Greek Mosaic at Um Jerar, Palestine. Exploration Quarterly, 50:3, 122-124, DOI: 10.1179/peq.1918.50.3.122. The author wrote "The floor far surpasses in beauty, workmanship and size, the one found last year at Shellal, and it is hoped that efforts will be made to preserve this truly magnificent link with the past of Palestine".
