Motto: I serve Junior Red Cross
Australian Red Cross Society Junior Red Cross Health Poster. Designed by Joan Pitman for the Tasmanian division of the Junior Red Cross the poster was issued circa 1944. The image is in the top two thirds of the poster and depicts two young girls standing together and reading a blown up listing of the ' Laws of Health'. The taller girl in the foreground is wearing a red skirt and white shirt and carrying a basket containing milk and fresh fruit and vegetables. The second girl is wearing a blue and white outfit and also carrying fruit. The junior red cross motto ' I Serve' is positioned beneath the listing. The title text frames the image top and bottom. Both the image and text are framed within a black border. The message of the poster is to equate good citizenship with good health.
