EXMOUTH GULF, WA. 1943. THE LANDING FROM WHICH IT WAS PROPOSED TO CONSTRUCT A LANDING STAGE CONSISTING OF STEEL TANK FLOATS SECURED WITH GIRDERS. THE FIRST TANK FLOATS, WHICH HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN TO THE BEACH BY SHIP'S BOAT, ARE TO BE USED TO CONSTRUCT AN EIGHT TON SELF PROPELLED BARGE. IT WAS PROPOSED TO ESTABLISH AN ADVANCED REFUELLING BASE FOR SUBMARINES. THE CODENAME FOR THE BASE WAS POTSHOT. (NAVAL HISTORICAL COLLECTION)
