Where does my membership funding go?
The Friends of the Memorial program enables people to support the Memorial and its work.
Friends help us to:
- Deliver the Memorial’s public programs and commemorative ceremonies
- Preserve and protect over four million items and records in our National Collection
- Tell the stories that deserve to be heard by contributing to collection acquisition and exhibition support
- Fund special Friends-only activities
What do Friends of the Memorial receive?
In return for this valuable support, Friends receive a range of benefits, including regular member updates, the opportunity to attend special Friends-only activities and more. A full list is available on the Friends benefits page.
How do I become a Friend of the Memorial?
You can join online or contact our Friends team on (02) 6243 4523.
I have recently joined or renewed my Friends membership, when can I expect my membership pack to arrive?
Once your payment has been processed, packs usually take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Please contact the Friends team if it takes longer than 3 weeks.
Can I have multiple people on my membership?
Yes, you can add additional members at a discounted rate at the time of purchase of your membership. Additional members will receive their own Friend membership cards and Friend lapel pins, though only the main point of contact will receive all correspondence.
What is the maximum age for a child to be added to a membership?
Those under 18 can be added to an adult Friend membership at a discounted rate.
Can I bring guests to member events?
Yes, if they are listed on your membership. Occasionally we will have the capacity to offer additional guests to attend, please note this is not guaranteed. Have you considered a gift membership for your guest?
How do I buy a Friends membership as a gift?
You have the option to turn an online Friend membership into a gift membership. Click here to purchase a gift membership online.
Are there other ways to support the Australian War Memorial?
Yes, you can support the Memorial by making a donation, providing corporate support, or leaving us a gift in your will.
