Description

M69 khaki nylon covered fragmentation vest containing a ballistic nylon filler sealed in a waterproof vinyl plastic casing. The filler consisted of 12 thicknesses of ballistic nylon cloth in the front and upper back, 10 thicknesses in the back with an additional 2 thicknesses, 15 centimetres wide, up the spine, and 6 thicknesses in the collar. A set of plastic stiffeners is inserted under the fifth layer of ballistic nylon. The vest is encased in a layer of Oxford cloth, and incorporated into the outer shell are two pockets and grenade hanger loops. The vest has a zipper closure at the front, and elastic laces on each side. Top label reads, "SIZE MEDIUM -31-/ 8470-823-7371 122-1300/ ARMOUR, BODY FRAGMENTATION/ PROTECTIVE, WITH 3/4 COLLAR/ DSA100-68-C-2375", Bottom Label "ARMOUR, BODY FRAGMENTATION/ PROTECTIVE, WITH 3/4 COLLAR/ THIS ARMOUR MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE! WHEN PROPERLY/ WORN, IT WILL PROTECT VITAL AREAS AGAINST SHELL AND/ GRENADE FRAGMENTS WHICH CAUSE MOST COMBAT/ CASUALTIES./ INSTRUCTIONS/ 1. WEAR ARMOUR OVER SHIRT AND UNDER/ FIELD JACKET./ 2. ADJUST SIDE LACES TO MAKE ARMOUR FIT THE BODY/ BUT STILL PROVIDE PROPER VENTILATION. DO NOT/ FIT TOO TIGHTLY./ 3. USE PROTECTIVE FLAPS TO COVER OPENING UNDER/ SIDE LACES AND SLIDE FASTENER. PROTECT SLIDE/ FASTENER BY FASTENING SNAP CLOSURE./ 4. DO NOT DRY THE ARMOUR NEAR AN OPEN FLAME.".
