Description
Diaries describe voyage to Egypt on SS Wiltshire, training and sightseeing in Egypt, including picket duty in Cairo. Describes voyage to Gallipoli, landing in May, trench warfare, Turkish attacks and snipers, sight and smell of corpses, truce of May 24. McGregor was killed on 5 June. Also includes F E Westbrook's poem "To Our Critic", a reply to Bean's criticism of AIF.
