Ridge, Vivian Farran (known as Victor) (Sergeant, b.1890 - d.1969)
Description
Diary written by 2642 Sergeant Vivian Farran Ridge (known as Victor) during his military service with the 37th Battalion and 38th Battalion in France during the First World War. The entries provide brief details of the final battles of April-November 1918, including the Amiens offensive. Later more detailed entries document the year 1919 during Ridge's travels through the United Kingdom and Europe before returning to Australia in August 1919. A black and white portrait of Ridge in his later years is also included.
