Sergeant Maxwell Clyde Froud
Description
Sergeant Maxwell Clyde Froud enlisted to the Second Australian Imperial Force on 27 June 1940. He undertook a period of training in New South Wales, and went on to serve with 2/23 Australian Infantry Battalion in Palestine and Egypt. Sergeant Froud sustained a leg injury in action, and spent many months recovering at 2/2 Australian General Hospital in Egypt. After his recovery, he worked as a Regimental Aid Post clerk before re-joining his unit. On 29 October 1942, Sergeant Froud was killed in action at El Alamein, Egypt. He is buried at El Alamein War Cemetary.
