Private Robert Semmens (3121, 9th Battalion) was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 6 December 1898. He enlisted in June 1915. Robert was killed in the battle of Pozieres on 25 July 1916. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. He was 17 years 7 months. Robert’s brother Private William Henry Semmens served in the 25th Infantry Battalion.
