Private John Edmund Allison
Description
Private John Edmund Allison was 18 years old when he joined the Australian Imperial Force in April 1917. He was living in Kiama, NSW, and listed his profession as Postal Official. He listed his father, Charles Allison, also of Kiama as his next of kin. Private Allison embarked from Sydney with reinforcements to the 17th Battalion on 16 June 1917. Following training in England he joined the 20th Battalion in Belgium on 24 March 1918. Private Allison was killed in action on 23 April 1918.
