Alan Lindsay Morrison was born on 15 August 1927 in Sydney, New South Wales. 2508 Major General Morrison served with the Royal Australian Infantry Corps of the Australian Army. He visited Vietnam from 26 October 1966 to 10 November 1966, and again from 13 May 1968 to 28 May 1968. He served in the 9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment from 12 Nov 1968 to 03 Dec 1969. He again visited Vietnam twice from 7 January to 14 January 1970 and 23 November to 29 November 1970. Morrison was awarded the Companion of the Distinguished Service Order in 1970 and an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1980.
