The Menin Gate Lions / Elizabeth Burness.
Abstract
As a gesture of friendship gifts were exchanged between the Australian War Memorial and the Belgian city of Ypres. In 1936 the Menin Gate lions were given to the Australian War Memorial and in 1938 a bronze statue was given by the Australian War Memorial on behalf of the Australian Government.
