Description

Chatelet. An outdoors group portrait of unidentified officers, NCOs and men of the 1st Australian Mechanical Transport Company and civilians gathered near trucks and two motorbikes. Three Australian flags are visible (one in the centre and two on the right). Several children can be seen on the left, while other civilians are gathered in front of the 'Reunion Cafe'. A soldier is repairing a truck in front of L'Eglise de L'Imaculee Conception (Church of the Immaculate Conception) at far right. This panorama is one of a series taken by the Australian War Records Section. The original 10 inch x 46 inch long 'Cirkut' camera nitrate negative is housed in the AWM Nitrate Store . It only available as a digital print.
