Description
Studio portrait of 2173 Private (Pte) William Frederick Lapthorne, 4th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Kotupna via Nathalia, Vic, aged 35. Pte Lapthorne, enlisted on 19 April 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1916. He later served as a Lance Corporal, and was killed in action on 27 July 1916 at Pozieres, France.
