Description

Mark I yellow based Disruptive Pattern Desert Uniform (DPDU) trousers with khaki plastic buttons and a zippered fly closure. The knees of the trousers are reinforced with a second layer of fabric, and the ankles have holes for an adjustable elastic cord to be threaded through. This cord has been removed. The trousers have a slash pocket on each hip and a single rear patch pocket secured by a button on the right side. On each thigh is a pleated expanding pocket with a button closure concealed under flaps. The waistband fastens above the zip with a button and is adjustable by fabric tabs and a pair of buttons at each hip. There are five large button-down belt loops on the waistband. A faded olive green maker's label is stitched to the lining of the right slash pocket.

History / Summary

Worn by 554630 Major Colin Johnston on his first deployment in Afghanistan. Major Johnston was Officer Commanding 152 Signal Squadron 1999-2002 and was Communications Officer of Task Force 64, the Special Air Service Regiment group in Afghanistan, from November 2001 to February 2002.
