Description
Studio portrait of 2109 Corporal (Cpl) Arthur William Armstrong, 4th Reinforcements, 24th Battalion, of South Gippsland, Vic. Cpl Armstrong enlisted on 16 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1915. He was promoted to sergeant and was wounded at Pozieres, France, and died on 29 July 1916. Prior to his enlistment he served with the 8th Light Horse Regiment, Bairnsdale troop.
