A US army Boeing Vertol CH-47 Chinook helicopter lifting an M2A2, 105 mm Howitzer of 102nd Battery, 12 Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, during Operation Hawkesbury, a reconnaissance in force operation that was conducted about twelve miles to the north and northwest of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base at Nui Dat. The operation was conducted by 1 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) and 4RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (the ANZAC Battalion comprising 4 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from 1 Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment).
