Portrait of 35604 Gunner (Gnr) Cecil Bernard Feneley, 1st Field Artillery Brigade (1 FAB). Gnr Feneley of West Maitland, NSW, was a solicitor prior to his enlistment on 27 November 1916. He was killed in action in France on 16 September 1918, aged 27 years. His brother, 35605 Gnr Paul Joseph Feneley also served with the 1 FAB, returning to Australia on 20 June 1919. His sister served as a Nurse in Salonica in Greece and his stepfather, Private (Pte) Alfred John Lindsay served with the 35th Battalion.
