Identity Disc : Corporal G L Trevillian 6 Battalion, AIF
Description
Round aluminium identity disc with hole punched out at the top for a neck thong. Impressed on the obverse '155/ TREVELLIAN G.L/6.A.I/C E', with 'missing' written with pencil in the centre of disc. The reverse side has a scratched letter 'M', and 'missing' written in pencil.
History / Summary
Associated with 155 Corporal George Leslie Trevillian of 6 Battalion AIF. He enlisted on 17 August 1914 and was killed in action during the second Battle of Krithia, on Gallipoli, on 8 May 1915. His body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Cape Helles Memorial. The surname on the disc misspelt.
