Description
Studio portrait of 2947 Private (Pte) George Frederick McCoom, 9th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of West Melbourne, Vic. Pte McCoom enlisted on 1 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 10 September 1915. He was killed in action on 17 August 1916 and is memorialised at Villers-Bretonneux, France, as he has no known grave.
