Description
Studio portrait of 2038 Private (Pte) Karl Sainsbury Rochstein, 3rd Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of Daylesford, Vic. Pte Rochstein enlisted on 16 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Anchises on 26 August 1915. He died of wounds on 6 July 1918 at Hamel, France. His brother, Lieutenant Fritz Sainsbury Rochstein, served with the AIF in the 8th Light Horse Regiment.
