Description
French field glasses (binoculars) with central focus and non-adjustable eye distance. Diameter of objective lenses 47 mm. Magnification approximately 2X.
History / Summary
Used by Private Joseph James Beattie of 18 Battalion, AIF from Manly, NSW. Beattie trained as a civil engineer before enlisting 16 March 1916. He served as a signaller and was wounded in the chest in August 1918, returning to Australia 9 December 1918.
