Description
Studio portrait of 3889 Private (Pte) John James McKenzie, 9th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Meeniyan, Vic. Pte McKenzie enlisted on 20 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Warilda in Melbourne on 8 February 1916. He was killed in action on 5 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. His death is commemorated at the Villers Bretonneux Memorial in France.
