Description

A poster of photographs including images of people killed and maimed by napalm attacks, victims of gas poisoning and torture and destroyed villages and military installations. The accompanying text in Japanese calls for the US to withdraw from Vietnam and captions each photograph. The Japanese text along the right side of the poster (vertically) notes; 'America, get out of Vietnam'. The Japanese text along the top of the poster notes; ' Photographs of the South Vietnamese People at War'. The captions accompanying the photos are; upper left; '700 Saigon citizens stood together to tell the US to go home (soth Vietnam)', centre left; 'American soldiers commit murder and torture everywhere', lower left; 'The US is conducting non-discriminatory bombing with napalm. 92% of the napalm bombs used in Vietnam were produced in Japan', top centre; 'The US soldiers are staring coldly at the young Vietnamese man who was shot and killed (South Vietnam)', middle centre; 'The liberation Army is fighting hard against the American bombing (South Vietnam), bottom centre; 'The US has been ignoring international law and using the poisonous gas and poisonous chemicals to kill people , which is not allowed according to the humanitarian accord (South Vietnam)', top right; 'Photo of US Squadron Leader Robert Smack who was captured on 11 February 1965 in a place called Quam Binh (?) district. He had his identification as well as a leaflet which said 'please help me' in five different languages (North Vietnam)', right upper centre; 'A big demonstration by young men in Hanoi who declared they would respond to their homeland's request to join the fight', right middle centre; '85% of the strategic villages built by America and their puppet governments were destroyed (South Vietnam), right lower centre; '11 February 1965 the US plane F8/C was shot down by an heroic Vietnamese people, when this plane was bombing the Dong Hoi district'.
