Description
Studio portrait of 1799 Private (Pte) Harry Gyer, 2nd Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Melbourne, Vic (originally of Lower Edmonton, London, England). Pte Gyer enlisted on 20 May 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 16 July 1915. He died of wounds he received on 5 April 1918 at Corbie, near Amiens, France.
