Description
Newsmap SouthWest Pacific Vol.2 - No.20 published 17th November 1944. It features the headline 'Japan Makes Stand on Leyte' with a map of the Luzon region of the Philippines of the verso.
Newsmaps were double sided posters published from 1942 by the U.S. Army's Information and Education Section. The posters were aimed at troops and detailed progress of the war, information on enemy and Allied equipment and tactics across the different theatres of the conflict. The Newsmaps followed a familiar format and by 1943 featured newspaper style layout on one side and full size maps or illustrated information on the other.
