Description
Studio portrait of 1756 Private (Pte) Thomas Clifford McGuiness, 2nd Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Daylesford, Vic. Pte McGuinness enlisted on 17 May 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 16 July 1915. He was killed in action at Hamel in France on 22 July 1918 and was awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre ten days previously.
