Studio portrait of 2652 Private (Pte) William Alexander Maes, 6th Battalion, of Bendigo, Vic. Pte Maes enlisted on 8 April 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Anchises on 26 August 1915. On 5 June 1918 he was killed in action near Villers Bretonneux, France.
