The original grave marker, covered in flowers, of 3242 Trooper (Tpr) Adolphus Kitson, 8th Australian Light Horse, of Middle Brighton, Vic. Tpr Kitson was born at Mendlesham, Suffolk, England and migrated to Australia with his family aged 19 years. He enlisted on 13 December 1916 and embarked from Melbourne aboard RMS Morea on 20 February 1917. Tpr Kitson died of heart failure from illness in Egypt on 15 October 1918 aged 26 years.
