Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) George Harry Duncan, 18th Battalion, of Coogee, NSW. Lt Duncan enlisted on 19 May 1915 and died of wounds on 9 August 1918; he was initially buried at the Lamotte en Santerre Communal Cemetery Extension, outside Corbie, before being moved to the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery in Fouilloy, France. Lt Duncan's date of death was previously thought to be 12 August 1918, but was rectified by the Office of Australian War Graves before his re-burial.
