Description
Studio portrait of 2572 Private (Pte) Alfred Frederick Butters, 19th Battalion, of Liverpool, NSW (originally of Sidmouth, Devon, England). Pte Butters enlisted on 18 July 1915 and left Australia on 2 November 1915 aboard HMAT Euripides. He died of wounds on 28 July 1916 at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station near Amiens in the Somme area of France.
