Collins, Allan James (Pilot Officer, d.1944)
Description
Flying logbook and diary of Pilot Officer Allan James Collins (412112), RAAF and 61 Squadron RAF. Covers period from February 1942 to February 1944. Collins spent most of 1942 training in Australia, and by February 1943 had arrived in England for further training. He joined 61 Squadron RAF in August and commenced combat operations as a navigator in Lancaster bombers. Collins was killed while on a mission to Augsburg, Germany on 25 February 1944.
