Description

Tourniquet made from grey and white elasticised material with an adjustable metal mechanism for tightening or loosening the tourniquet. On the front of the metal adjuster is the remnants of a paper instructional tag with information written in French, Spanish and German. A partial translation of the French indicates the following: 'Always press on the button that you open the metal case, ---- , elastic belt'. This paper obscures a manufacturers stamping, revealing only '?META'. On the reverse of the metal adjuster is stamped 'Made in W.Germay' and the number '901' below this.

History / Summary

Found in the pockets of flying overalls (REL29025.001). 'Made in West Germany' indicates it was made before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
