The latest despatch "Send more men!"
Description
Australian First World War recruitment poster issued by the South Australian Government targeting men aged 18 to 45. It features a full length portrait of a military despatch rider with a bandaged head wound, with a British-made Douglas model U 347cc motorcycle, gesturing towards a war damaged village in the background as if calling for reinforcements. Douglas made approximately 70,000 motorbikes for the war effort. The title is positioned in the upper left with a subtitled positioned bottom centre both printed in black. The image and text are set against a bright yellow background and framed with a red border. This is an Australian copy of a British recruitment poster (see ARTV00035).
