Grave of 1242 Trooper (Tpr) George Coleman, 11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, of Longreach, Qld. Tpr Coleman enlisted in Longreach, Qld, on 29 August 1915 and embarked from Adelaide with the 6th Reinforcements of the 11th Light Horse Regiment aboard HMAT (A24) Benalla on 27 October 1915. He was killed in action on 7 November 1918 near Tel El Sharia in Palestine aged 24. He is buried at the Gaza War Cemetery, Palestine section, number 8.
