Goessling, Gotthard Martin Peter (Sergeant, b.1886 - d.1974)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Sergeant Gotthard Martin Peter Goessling, 3 Field Ambulance, Gallipoli and France. Collection consists of two diaries, three pay books, an Australian Comforts Fund Writing Wallet containing blank postcards and a military pas, and a 1919 New Year Dinner and concert program for the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance. The 1915 diary contains reference to the death of 'Simpson' on 19 May and detailed observations on casualties and the provision of care for them. Accompanying the original records is an indexed and illustrated transcript (dated 2001) of the two diaries titled "Diary of an ANZAC, Sergeant GMP Goessling".
