Augmentez votre revenu [Increase your income...]
Canadian First World War poster issued by War Poster Service to sell Victory Bonds to the population to raise money for the War. The victory bonds were a loan to the Canadian Government which could be redeemed with interest over 5 to 20 years. In total 5 different campaigns were held in Canada between 1915 and 1919. Each release of victory bonds, as in other Allied nations, was supported by a poster campaign overseen by the Victory Loan Dominion Publicity Committee. This poster targeted French Canadians printed with text only in vivid yellow, red and black it translates as " Increase your income: why be satisfied with less when you can obtain 5 1/2% with Victory Bonds". An version of this poster was also produced in English. (see ARTV00479)
