Who made these little islands...
Description
British First World War recruitment poster. The poster appeals to a patriotic sensibility framed in historical terms, and is text based, with no pictures. Red text reading 'ENLIST TO-DAY runs across the bottom of the poster; the top half is dominated by 'question and answer' paragraphs. The first paragraph, printed in green ink, asks ''WHO made these little Islands the centre of the greatest and most powerful Empire the world has ever seen?' - the response, in the upper right corner of the poster, printed in red ink, responds, 'Our forefathers'. The rest of the poster has similar 'question and answer' paragraphs.
