Description

A meeting of the Mixed Military Working Group (MMWG), a high-level forum for all four Cambodian military factions, who are seated to the right of the room, and the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) military contingent representatives, who are seated to the left of the room. The front of the meeting is dominated by a UN flag and two large briefing maps of Cambodia showing the country's provinces and the deployment of UNTAC's military contingents, as well as the location of each faction's forces. A cameraman is standing in front of the maps recording the proceedings. First meeting on 28 December 1991, usually in the old colonial French Protectorate's Residence in Phnom Penh, the MMWG had been formed by the United Nations Advance Mission in Cambodia (UNAMIC) and continued under UNTAC.
