Description
Material covers John Balfour's duties in Manila with General Headquarters, Historical Records and at the formal Japanese surrender in Tokyo. Also records of his 1914-1918 service including the Gallipoli mission in 1919, and letters from Nellie Balfour (nee Fisher) and others. Later material covers Don Balfour's service in Australian Military Force, naval training at Flinders and service aboard HMAS LaTrobe, Vigilant and Hawk 1943-1946. Draft manuscript of the experiences of Gordon John Balfour who served on Royal Navy corvettes on escort work in the North Atlantic 1941-1943.
