Collection related to Pte James H Giddins, 2/15th Battalion, and a prisoner of war in Italy and Germany. Consists of: Folder 1 - 45 letters sent by Pt Giddins to his mother Mrs Manning, while serving as a POW in Italy, 1941-1943; Folder 2 - 19 letters sent by Pte Giddins to his mother while serving as POW in Germany, 1943-1945; Folder 3 - 3 telegrams and letters sent by Pte Giddins in 1945 on his return to England; Folder 4 - 9 letters sent by Pt Giddins to friends and family, 1942-1944; Folder 5 - 8 messages received through the Apostolic Delegation, North Sydney, Christmas 1942 and Easter 1943, Greetings from Giddins and 6 messages and answers sent by Mrs Manning to Pte Giddins; and Folder 6 - 3 telegrams, 4 cards and 1 letter sent to Mrs Manning by members of her family while on active service.
