Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of 6288 Private George Russell Beveridge, 22 Battalion. Collection consists of an original diary in leather wallet, with original pencil. Diary covers the period 23 November to 31 December 1916 and contains names and addresses; a kit list; and discusses life aboard the ship, including the Christmas and New Year period. In the back of the diary are two tram tickets from Amiens. Pte Beveridge died in France on 11/10/1917 from wounds received while fighting in Belgium.
