Description
Grave of two British and one Australian Air Force personnel in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Birzebbuga, Malta. The Australian is 402077 Sergeant Norman John Knight from Croydon, NSW who was an office worker prior to enlisting on 26 May 1940. He embarked for overseas from Sydney on 3 February 1941, arriving in Egypt eight weeks later. He died of wounds in hospital on 9 March 1942 following a head-on collision between two Wellington bombers from 37 Squadron attached to RAF station Luqa, Malta. The aircraft collided on the flare path into Luqa airfield.
